Dorothy for the day

Vintage fashion designer Vivien of Holloway has teamed up with Hertfordshire ale brand Dorothy Goodbody to create a 1950s inspired calendar for 2013.

Brewers Wye Valley announced earlier this year that they were looking for someone to embody the character of Miss Goodbody to take part in a photoshoot.

Winner Lucy Dearden, of Kent, saw off competition from more than 90 other potential Dorothys and won the chance to be Dorothy for the day with a fifties style shoot at Pridewood Farm, near Ledbury. The prize also included a Vivien of Holloway dress, a framed photo of the shoot, copies of the calendar and a case of Dorothy Goodbody’s ales.

Dearden said: “I had a great time, it was amazing to be transformed into the 1950s look, the clothes were beautiful. It was surprisingly hard work though and I certainly deserved a bottle of Dorothy Goodbody’s by the end of the day.”

The calendar is available to buy format the brewery’s online shop.
